Overview
Base oil refers to lubrication grade oils derived either from refining crude oil or through chemical synthesis. It is characterized by a boiling point range between 285 and 565 °C and consists of hydrocarbons containing 18 to 40 carbon atoms. Several grades of Base oil exist, such as SN 150, SN 500, and SN 600.
Applications:
Base oils serve as essential components in the manufacturing of various products, including:
- ● Lubricating greases
- ● Motor oil
- ● Metal processing fluids
- ● Rubber products
- ● White and paraffin oil
Base oil's properties make it indispensable in producing high-quality lubricants and functional substances used in numerous industrial applications.
